Gabriel Hermida
Acayucan, México 1965. Lives and works between Berlin and Mexico.
Gabriel Hermida’s work is based on the combination of the design of costumes for theatre and plastic painting. He prepare the fabric following the principle of kimonos to serve as canvases for landscapes of intense colours: The costumes are painted as pictures and formed as sculptures, and the costumes work on the stage, as well as they function as sculptures in gallery’s exhibition.
This combination of visual arts and costume design has been worked by Gabriel Hermida since the beginning of his years in Berlin.
